COP now refers to two proposals from Ardans designed to manage and facilitate your Communities of Practice: CoPBoK and CoPMgr
CoPBoK (Community of Practice Body of Knowledge)
CoPBoK consolidates the principles, activities, and terminology regarding the management of Communities of Practice into a single body of knowledge, in compliance with the ISO 30401 standard.
Designed to be a practical tool rather than just another theoretical treatise, the CoPBoK is intended as a guide for any organisation wishing to develop this type of ‘practice-focused’ community within its ranks. Available as an e-book, the CoPBoK represents the state of the art, which is continually enriched by our experiences and the practices described in the professional literature.
The CoPBoK is the result of the experience of Ardans and Polia Consulting, founded by Jean-Yves Prax.
CoPMgr (Community of Practice Manager)
CoPMgr is designed as a workspace for the facilitator of the 'CoP of CoPs'—typically the organization's Knowledge Manager. It serves as a tool to support the steering and management of the 'CoP of CoPs,' the community that brings together the leaders or facilitators of existing Communities of Practice. CoPMgr is based on the CoPBoK framework.
